Software

So, what is this blog made of?

Well, this blog runs on the Ghost publishing platform on a CentOS VPS hosted on Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt, Germany (until recently it was hosted in Baltimore, USA and Bissen, Luxembourg).

Gandi.net is my registar of choice for more than 15 years.
Why? They explain it better themselves: "no bullshit´┐Ż".

I recently switched from Gandi's VPS services to AWS, mostly because SELinux is enabled by default on their Linux images.

Besides the VPS hosting, the following Open Source software is used to serve this page:

The CentOS Linux distribution is a stable, predictable, manageable and reproducible platform derived from the sources of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Ansible is an open-source automation engine that automates software provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment.

Docker is an open-source project that automates the deployment of applications inside software containers. It is promoted by the company Docker, Inc.

The Apache HTTP Server Project is an effort to develop and maintain an open-source HTTP server for modern operating systems including UNIX and Windows NT.

Ghost is a simple, powerful publishing platform that allows you to share your stories with the world.

As an asynchronous event driven framework, Node.js is designed to build scalable network applications.

SQLite is a software library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine.

Python is a widely used high-level programming language for general-purpose programming, created by Guido van Rossum and first released in 1991.
